View From My Window

Welcome to the View From My Window. When I started this website in December of 2000, I lived out in the country and had a great view from the window that was next to my computer.  Well almost 5 years have passed since then and I am now living in a different state, and unfortunately, my computer sits facing a wall now!  Not much to see of the outside world here LOL.  But since I love this page so much, I decided to keep it as is and continue to give my View, although now it will be the View From The Window Of My Mind  :o)   Below all of this is the original, and first, View from that old window 5 years ago.  I hope you enjoy reading my new Views as they are posted and while you're waiting for them, check out the original.

(NOTE: This is the original View from 12/2000):

Snow, glorious snow. You just gotta love it. What a view from my window today. Pure whiteness expanding across my yard--the road--across the road--on and on until infinity. Nothing like a winter wonderland to get the 'ole creative juices flowing.

I sat down at my computer, mesmerized by the Japanese Yew that sits just outside my window. The way the snow covers it, making it hang precariously over as if it will fall down at any moment, reminds me of myself. Sometimes, I feel as though I am just hanging by a thread, as though I will fall over from life's difficulties at the drop of a hat. But I don't fall over, and I never give up. Strength of character and mind keeps me going, even when things seem insurmountable. Of course, a solid foundation in knowing myself, and knowing my limitations doesn't hurt. Staying rooted in your beliefs, just as the Japanese Yew stays rooted beneath the earth, is something we all need to strive for on a daily basis.

This is the view that awaited me this morning, Friday, December 15, 2000.

Setting goals for yourself is a good thing as well. If I can look ahead to goals I am determined to accomplish, then whatever rough patch I am going through at this moment will be easier to deal with. I can handle whatever is thrown at me because I won't always be in this situation. I will learn from it and grow.

Until next time...take a moment to look out your window and see what inspiration you can find. ~~~Moonlight Nuance
